Delightful Dessert

I think this dish has been at every family carry-in I have ever attended and it is always one of the first with an empty pan. We also called it "cherry cheesecake". I remember my aunt would sometimes make it doubly delightful by doubling the recipe and topping 1/2 with cherry topping and the other with pineapple pie filling. Both are very yummy!! Recipe is here.

In our immediate family 3 of our 4 birthdays fall within 60 days of each other and we tend to get a little tired of birthday cake. This makes a great stand-in some years!!

Available at Cutters Market.

*Delightful, delovely, delicious!
*Cheerful looks make every dish a feast!

We had a wonderfully busy weekend. DD#1 graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biology on Saturday morning. We moved both girls home that afternoon. Spent the rest of the day "stuffing" their stuff back into their rooms (LOL). So that we had room to host a small graduation party on Sunday.
It is nice to have everyone under one roof again!

Hope everyone has a "delightful" week!

Chicken Paprikas

Wow - where did THIS week go??? I thought the days were supposed to get longer in the Spring! LOL

We are busy getting ready for college graduation this weekend. DD#1 will graduate with a degree in Biology tomorrow morning. On Sunday we are having family over for a little "congratulations" party. Then the major "let's make sure everything is on track for the wedding" push begins. As they say, time flies when you're having fun :)

Here's another page I added to her recipe album.

Get the recipe here.

Available at Cutters Market.

Happy Weekend!!

Pudding & Ice Cream

Here’s one of our family’s favorite desserts. Hot home-made chocolate pudding spooned over a scoop of frosty cold vanilla ice cream. Definitely one of our “comfort foods”.

I picked up this recipe in home ec class, (in the days before “consumer science” LOL) and updated it for microwaving.
Soo easy and soo good!

Rock My World

Our part of the country did a bit of unexpected rocking this morning as an earthquake shook us early this morning. I was awakened by things rattling on our dresser. I remember feeling one other tremor, probably 20+ years ago that shook us for a couple seconds. This one seemed to last a bit longer, since I was able to actually wake up and become aware of what was going on before it was over. LOL Though a common occurrence for many of you, this is a rarity here and will be the talk of every coffee shop and breakroom today around here!! This quake was centered over 350 miles from us so I've heard of no local damage or injuries.

Did you know you can report your earthquake experiences?? I found this site for the USGS where you can report how an earthquake affected you and your area.

In honor of this event I designed this little title. It could be used for whatever gets you rocking!

Available at Cutters Market.

Speaking of rocks (kinda) . . . Michelle sent a photo of a layout she made using my
Rock Collector file.

She used the file in a Hebrew Alphabet Album she made for her nephew. You can see the complete album (along with others she has made) on her website.

Have a wonderful, safe weekend!!

Recipe Album Cover

I’ve been working on DD’s recipe album again. I’m putting the recipes in an 8.5 x 11” 3-ring binder. The one I bought has a clear front so this is what I made to insert in the cover.

The quote comes from a picture I’ve had hanging in my kitchen since shortly after we were married.

Available at
Cutters Market

I’ve got several more pages in the works; I need to have the album completed by May 4th. I’ll share more in coming days.

Bonkin' Robin

I love waking in the mornings to the birds tweeting and chattering now. But we’ve got a bird sound we’d rather not hear right now. We’ve got ourselves a “Bonkin’ Robin” He spends his days bonkin’ into the window in our family room. We’ve tried shooing him and putting objects in front of the window but he won’t quit pounding himself into the window.
Sad to say, we have this problem with a mixed-up bird almost every year. Last year it was a robin (same brain-damaged one??) and before that we had cardinals try their luck at breaking in. After a day or two they give up but in the meantime we get a messy window and a “bonk” every few minutes.

Hope this cutter version of a robin behaves much better for you. LOL

Available at Cutters Market.
Happy weekend!

Double Dutch

With all the beautiful weather I’ve seen lots of the neighborhood kiddos out playing. Time for the balls, sidewalk chalk, bicycles and jump ropes to come out once again.
Any Double Dutch experts out there? I never did get the hang of jumping two ropes, but it sure did look like fun! What are your favorite jumping rhymes? Our favorites as I recall were “Down in the Valley” and “Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear”.

Available at Cutters Market.

Reader Recipe Layout

Take a look at the lovely recipe page submitted by Ramona!
She used my Smore file to scrap her indoor smore recipe.
I love how the little bits of ribbon add the perfect touch
to the layout. Wonderful Ramona!

Windmills & Tulips

Just a quick post today. . .
It is a beautiful day - sunny & 60's - and there are soooo many things to get done. (I'm sure you know the feeling!)

I had a request for a windmill, and this is what I came up with. When I was a kid we visited Holland, Michigan, for their Tulip Festival. So when I think windmills that is what comes to my mind.

Available at Cutters Market.

Hope everyone has a terrific weekend!!

Graduation Preparations

I've been working on the invitation for DD#1 graduation party.

Since she's got a wedding coming up in June this will be a rather small get-together. We are, however, very proud of her and think she deserves a bit of recognition!
Well, I've got about 10 projects going on right now that need my attention. LOL Better get back to them. Have a great day!!

Available at Cutters Market.
