Getting Ready for Spring and a PAFA Team Giveaway!

We have had some beautiful weather here lately - definitely feeling spring-like! In fact, over the weekend hubby and I worked on getting another raised bed put together for this year's garden. And . . . with the sun shining so nicely today I decided to try planting some cool weather seeds. I put out some lettuce and sugar pod peas in planters on the warmer/protected side of the house - I know some cooler weather is still on the way, but we will see what happens!!

Anyone interested in a boatload of home decor goodies - for free??
The Primitive And Folk Artists etsy team is hosting our first giveaway and WOW!! The winner will feel like they've won the lottery! I've donated the above Spring Mini-Quilt, but there are 15+ other wonderfully creative items that will go to the first place winner and $5.00 gift certificates will go to several other winners. I'll have more details on my blog when sign-ups go live (March 1), but in the meantime you can keep up to date by checking out the PAFA Team blog.

I've got a bit of spring for you, my dear digital cutter friends . . .
Hope you enjoy this little bloom!

Love N Stitches

Been having some fun with fabric lately. I made these for my daughters as Valentine gifts.
This is on it's way to North Carolina . . .

And this one to Indiana . . .

I had so much fun making these! I used my computer font collection for some of the lettering - printing out the words on paper to use as a pattern. Next I ironed WunderUnder to the back side of my fabrics, cut out the letters and ironed them to the background fabric. I did a little hand stitching with embroidery floss to finish the edges of the lettering and added a fabric border and hanger to finish them off.

I've added a couple stitched wall art items at WhimseyDimples also.
This one is mounted in a painted wood frame.

And this tea-stained piece I left all raggedy and primitive.
I'm having so much fun combining my paper/scrapbooking supplies with my sewing and fabric stash!!

Hope everyone is gearing up to have a "love-ly" weekend!!
Enjoy this border file - it includes both horizontal and vertical rows of hearts.
