Keep Calm and Carry On

Keep Calm and Carry On - Seen that slogan lately? Seems to be everywhere along with all sorts of derivatives. Not wanting to be left out, I've done my own take on that little poster.

In my life I've found the only way to keep calm is to place my trust totally and completely in God's hands. And then, with the assurance that my life, and the world in general, is not dependent on my feeble attempts to "fix" everything, I can carry on with the next minute, next day, the life left before me.

Read the interesting story behind the Keep Calm Poster on wikipedia. To bad the original designer never knew how popular their slogan would become. Just goes to show, we never know how far our influence may reach.

Be Prepared

Prepared??
Well, depends what we are talking about!
But, for the first time ever I'm prepared for a few card sending occasions more than a day before they need to be sent!! I spent an afternoon going through some of my old paper piecings and cutouts and actually made something with them!! What a novel concept, right?? Most of these are from my pre-digital cutter days (like 5 years ago, yikes!!)Wanna see?

If you're working on Valentines cards you might find a use for this Bird In Heart file

Happy Snow Day!
(yep, we've got another one tomorrow)

Snowed in?!

We've been "snowed-in" this week so I've been able to concentrate on several new projects.
It is so funny to realized that schools here have been closed all week for a mere 4-5" of snow. In Indiana that amount of the white stuff is taken in stride. Of course, there are plenty of snowplows to clear the road there too, and not nearly as many hilly, curvy, treacherous roads to maneuver.

Here are some of the things I've completed . . .
I Love Thee Prim Wall Hanging
Gotcha! Love Letter Pocket

Peanutbutter Cookie Recipe Page

The latter resulted in this file to share with you!!

Sending warm thoughts your way . . .
(I'd send a warm cookie, but blogger seems to balk at that!)

The fun begins!

Even though the week hasn't gone exactly as planned (nothing new there!!), I have gotten a start on the recipe album I'm making for my daughter.
This kid was my picky eater. But now, at 22, she has really expanded her horizons! A couple years ago I was floored when she told me she liked Spinach Artichoke Dip ("You do know there are vegetables in that?!") and she recently talked us into trying Sushi (yeh, I was a holdout on that one, raw fish just sounded like something I could live without trying - ever. But if she could do it, I could do it!!)

When this girl was in elementry school I actually made a list of the foods she liked - and it sure didn't take much paper! I'm hoping I run onto that list again as I'm preparing this album, I'd like to include it as a reminder of what a "difficult" child she was!! LOL

Here's the first page I've completed

You can view the recipe here
