Be The People – A Call to Reclaim America’s Faith and Promise
Carol M. Swain, PhD.
A must-read for all freedom loving Americans
America is changing.
If we wish our country to stay true to its vision of freedom and sovereignty, we must educate ourselves in what makes up its founding documents. We must also look into the beliefs and thought processes of our founding fathers, the writers of our Declaration of Independence and Constitution. What made these documents so important to the writers that they agonized over every word and phrase?
Ms. Swain provides some of the much needed background of the Christian ideals and beliefs our country was founded upon. In this book she also touches on many of the “hot button” topics that threaten to divide and/or change our nation today.
Several things I appreciated about this book:
v Annotations and notes - Lots of them, backing up her opinions and insights.
v Appendix – Included are several important documents all Americans should become more familiar with: The Ten Commandments; The Declaration of Independence; The Bill of Rights; and the Constitution of the United States of America.
v Action Points – At the end of each chapter there are suggested readings and ways to actively make a difference in our community/country.
v Study Guide - Questions for each chapter are available at the author’s website http://www.carolmswain.net/books/study-guides/
v Steps Toward Reclaiming America – Feeling helpless as you see America heading the wrong way? The author suggests a plan of action.
Some individuals may find the author’s Christian views presented in this book disagreeable. That freedom to express contrasting ideas is exactly what America is all about and THAT is exactly what we need to reclaim and protect.
I received this book for free through the Thomas Nelson BookSneeze program.
Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
