This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Flourished Bunny

Wow! Where has the time gone? I can't believe we are one-third of the way through 2010 already.
We are so looking forward to having both our girls home this weekend!! And we couldn't ask for any better weather - loving it!!

Not meaning to be too political here, but - I find the news lately very depressing, and although much hope was promised a year or so ago I'm not seeing it in our country.

"The great gift of Easter is hope - Christian hope which makes us have that confidence in God, in his ultimate triumph, and in his goodness and love, which nothing can shake."-- Basil C. Hume

I am so thankful Jesus died and rose so that I have hope of more than this world can ever offer. I'm also thankful that God is not stingy with His gift of life - it is available for you too!
  • For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  John 3:16-17
Wishing you Easter blessing, love and hope.
He Lives!!

A Wee-Bit of Ireland

Wow! - judging from my email, today will definitely be my day. Every company I have ever had contact with tells me I'm lucky because they are having a special sale (just for me!) Oh, wait - they are telling you the same thing?? Ah, well, just one of those things that made me smile this morning. heehee

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I came across a few interesting Irish-y tidbits on the web that I thought I would share. Did you know you can participate in an actual Leprechaun Watch? That's right! You can watch for leprechaun activity in Tipperary, Ireland via a live webcam! Not only can you watch, but you can print yourself out an authentic certificate testifying to the fact!! The site also offers info on Irish history, culture, folklore and travel information. Intrigued? Visit

Yesterday I baked my very first loaf of Irish Soda Bread and it was yummy! I've never had that type of bread before, must not be any Irish blood in my background (never had Irish Stew either). I have no idea how authentic the recipe might be, but hubby and I did enjoy it. Here's the link to the Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread that I found at And here's how mine turned out.

It was moist inside but crusty/crumbly on the outside with a nicely sweet taste - good stuff!

I'm offering a little something different for today's freebie file. I paper-pieced a little leprechaun yesterday and turned him into a Print-N-Cut file. Sorry, but he's only offered in GSD this time.

It is easy to be pleasant
when life flows by like a song,
but the man worth while
is the one who will smile
when everything goes dead wrong.
For the test of the heart is trouble,
and it always comes with years,
and the smile that is worth
the praises of earth
is the smile that shines through the tears.

Beach Sign Mystery . . .

To help carry out my beach themed bathroom, I crafted this little sign.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out and how much (actually little) it cost.

I used only materials I already had on hand - anyone care to guess what I used?? (hint: the only things wooden are the bird's leg and beak)

I'll reveal my secret in an upcoming post . . .

**Update** The mystery is solved see this post.

At any rate, the above project was the inspiration for this cutting file.

Spring Fever

It's spring fever.
That is what the name of it is.
And when you've got it, you want -
oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want,
but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
~Mark Twain

Don't know about you, but I'm feeling a bit feverish. :)
Snow is gone, sun is shining, and warm temperatures are in the forecast - oh yeah - Spring is on the way!!

Gardening and landscaping projects fill my head, I'm longing to ditch my coat and pull out the short sleeve shirts! Is anyone with me?

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens

Birthday Cards

Two of my nephews have had birthdays in the last couple weeks. Since we've moved I don't get to see family quite as often so I'm trying to make special cards. Right now I'm having a ball playing around with interactive cards.

This was for the 14 year old

He's kind of into numbers :)

I added a disclaimer on the back "not responsible for numerical accuracy - statistics generated by" (very nifty site BTW!)

For my nine year old nephew I used a pop-up template from
Robert Sabuda

I'll be working on a girly card next for my niece's birthday later in March. I just wish I would get these done a little sooner - instead of the morning I need to send them out - I guess I work best under pressure!!
