Playing with Flourishes

Today I was having a little fun with a flourish. The basic shape has a sort of vintage look.

I think some variation of this design will end up being cut from vinyl and used in DD's room once we move. . . I'm going back to play some more!

Challenge! How Cold Was It??

Last Friday morning this is what my thermometer registered

-19 degrees with windchill at -30 to -35. Brrrr!

My co-workers at the library tried an experiment.

They threw hot water into the air - and they made their own snow. (As if we didn't have enough already - Ha!)

I'm so glad that blast of winter air is behind us! It actually feels warm today with sunshine and 20+ degree temps!

Sit at my table?

Thought I'd share a couple more photos to tell the story of this week in Northern Indiana

I took a look out on my deck this morning - anyone care to join me at my table??


We've had 2-3 inches of snow almost daily - it's been adding up!


When I headed off to bed last night I snapped a photo of this memorable temperature.


-6.3 degrees, without adding in the windchill - And it is forecast to get even colder tonight!



I designed this file to make a thank you card for my next-door neighbor who has graciously (and stealthily) cleaned out my driveway, almost daily, this week!

Happy 2009!

Oh, my what happened to December?!

My apologies to you, my blogging friends, I didn't plan to be gone for so long!

Life's been fun, but busy, thought I'd share a few photos representing my December.

The month began calm, peaceful, cold and snowy

We visited Nashville, in search of a house and enjoyed the sights and lights at the Opryland Resort

.

I completed a few Christmas gifts

Grandma's Brag Book for my supervisor

Snowman cans filled with goodies for co-workers

A doodle pad for my niece.

Amid the normal decorating, shopping, baking, and wrapping activities.

We experienced a beautiful, yet debilitating ice storm,

and a snow storm.

Needless to say, my December passed very quickly and not always as planned.

We were blessed that family and friends were able to visit and return home safely despite difficult weather conditions.

2009 will be bringing more upheaval as we sell our house, buy a house and move to a new state.
Excited? yes

Stressed? a bit

Up for the challenges? With God's help, we are!

Can't make any promises concerning the frequency of blog updates, but I will do my best.
