Hope everyone was/is able to enjoy time with the family throughout the holidays.
Now Available for Purchase at Cutters Market

We enjoyed a Christmas celebration here with DD#1, her hubby & DD#2. Then we all travelled North for more merriment with our extended families.
We discovered that we haven't been out of the snowbelt long enough to truly appreciate returning to a white Christmas.
On our trip back to Tennessee the whole length of Indiana bid us goodby with a snowy, wet, slippery, slushy drive (6 hours worth!) Needless to say, it was good to make it back here safe and sound.

December in Tennessee

The drive to Indiana was pleasant enough - even had some sunshine to start us on our way.

But . . .

Heading back South was a bit messy!
One of the joys of winter, I guess.

Wishing all a Peaceful, Productive, & Happy 2010!

Merry Christmas!

Thought I'd give you a peek at some of the projects I've been working on lately (without giving away any Christmas secrets of course!)
Christmas Cards are mailed out. I challenged myself with using non-traditional printed cardstock backgrounds along with stickers, and "leftover" cuts from my stash. With a little ink and a touch of glitter, I was quite happy with how they turned out - every one unique!

Gifts for hubby's co-workers. Peanut brittle stashed in a vinyl container embellished with vinyl cuts, a little tissue and a bow. I used different colors of containers and ribbon along with several different fonts to individualize each one.

Added a vinyl cut Merry Christmas greeting to this charger plate and it was ready to fill with Christmas cookies to share with friends.

We are eagerly awaiting DD#2's arrival home from college and a visit from DD#1 and hubby from NC. Been way too long since everyone has been under one roof!

Christmas Blessings to all!

Just like many of you, I'm in the midst of Christmas preparations. We've gotten our very first "artificial" tree this year (but I just call it "fake" LOL). I'm adjusting . . . missing that fresh pine scent!

Spent yesterday mixing up and baking cookies. So far, Walnut Balls, Datenut Pinwheels, Peanutbutter Cup Cookies and Chocolate Crinkles. Haven't done a bunch of cookies for several years - I'd forgotten how much I enjoy baking!

Here's an oldie, but goodie freebie

Layered Poinsettia

We're still enjoying 60-70 degree temps, so I'm having a hard time thinking Christmas for very long. I was able to concentrate long enough, however, to pull together this poinsettia file.

Acorns & Oak Leaves

After a very dreary past few days I finally get to see the sun today! After listening to the rain on my roof early this morning the sun is trying to make a comeback.
Loving it!!

I've not had much feedback lately.
Are you, my friends, able to use the latest files?
Or is this stuff getting old to you?
I know there are a lot of great designers sharing files now and more and more sites and memberships to purchase too.
Have you gotten your harddrive full??
Anyone have any thoughts to share?
I'd love to hear from you.

Here's another cut to add to your fall file collection.

A Bumper Crop

We've had a wet late summer/early fall here. And that has lead to a bumper crop of fungi! I took a walk around my yard one morning and snapped photos of quite a variety of toadstools - a myriad of shapes, sizes, textures and colors.
These were the largest - some as big as a small dinner plate!

These looked teddy bear soft!

Cute little quartet.

So delicate when you get a close look!

They take on a whole new look as they begin to dry

Must have been perfect growing conditions here!!

My parents will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary early next year, so my mind is starting to work in that direction. Cut from gold metallic paper or vinyl this may work to embellish an invitation. We'll see . . .

A Special Day

We visited a local festival over the weekend. When I first heard of the "Country Ham Festival" I was unsure just what was being celebrated - maybe ham radio operators or country performers "hamming it up".
Nope, nothing that complicated - it celebrates country hams - the kind that come from pigs of course! There were pig races, hog calling contests, craft vendors, food vendors features pork cuisine, lots of fun things for the kiddies

and a contest to see who produced the best country cured ham.

Just goes to show that any day can be a special day!

Herbs, Birds & Leaves

I've been spending time outdoors the last few days - after 2 weeks of daily rainshowers it is so nice to see the sun shining!!
My Pineapple Sage plant has grown so beautifully this year - and the hummingbirds love it.

This little lady kept me company while I ate my lunch on the patio yesterday.

Today's share is a skeleton leaf. It would look great cut from metallic paper or heat embossed after cutting!!

Beauty (and a beast)

Hubby and I took a walk the other evening and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

Then we looked around and spotted this bit of beauty.
Come to find out this is the Tennessee State Wildflower - the Passionflower. A bit more research turned up the fact that having this recognition was not without it's controversy! (Read more here - who knew?)

Walking along a bit further we came across this

Would you like a closer look? . . .

I don't care for that smile on his face - do you? Snapped a couple pix, stepped around him and he didn't stick around to see us on our trip back home (can't say I was disappointed!!)

You just ever know what adventures a day may bring!!
