This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Spring Cleaning

I would NEVER claim that I do "spring cleaning". The cleaning bug usually bites me sometime each spring, but I quickly recover after thoroughly cleaning a single room, a closet, or maybe just a drawer! That is usually enough to last me through a season or two. Then every once in a while I'll feel "cluttered" and dig into something else - but I don't think (other than when moving in or moving out) that my whole house has been totally cleaned at the same time! (Please don't tell my "house-is-always-clean" MIL! LOL)

Anyway, we've been doing a bit of painting around the house; hallway, bath, kitchen so those areas are getting a thorough going over - I'm afraid the rest of the place will just have to wait!

In honor of our painting endeavors I designed this file.

File available at Cutters Market.

And yes, it finally FEELS like spring here today!! It is 58 degrees as I write, hoping for a high in the 60's!
I actually left the house without my winter coat this morning! It's been a long time coming this year!

Let's Cheer!

DD#2 was a cheerleader for 6 years starting in elementary and continuing all the way through high school. Since she is so tiny (barely 4’11”) she was a natural flyer (after she overcame her fear!) I remember when her middle school coach first suggested it, she was literally in tears and dreading the next practice. But it wasn’t long before she was comfortable up in the air and found she could trust her “bases”. After high school she assured us she had had enough cheering and wasn’t interested in continuing the sport into college. While we appreciated her talent in that area, we were also a bit relieved to know she would now be keeping her feet on the ground! We felt blessed that she had participated all those years and her only injury was a sprained finger and a few bruises!

This is one of those long lost files I designed many months ago and then totally forgot about. (You can guess that I haven't scrapped all those cheer photos yet!)

Available at Cutters Market.

In fact I worked on several cheer files, and only had gotten one test cut. For anyone interested I’ll be getting others listed at Cutters Market in the near future.

Cheer Quotes:
*It doesn't matter if you win or lose the game - it's how loud you CHEER!
*It's not the glitz of the uniform that matters, but the spirit that shines within it.
*CHEERLEADER: (n.) An athlete who can jump, kick, toss, catch, stunt, tumble, AND fly...

A big THANKS to Sussann for sending this photo of a layout page she designed using my Fishnet & Shells file.

Her page brings back memories of her visit to Marty’s Boston Crab in Green Bay, WI. Sounds like a great place to visit – she reports the food as being “incredible”! The slogan on their trolley is “Don’t Worry, Be Crabby!” too cute! I like how she enlarged the crab to make him more prominent and the addition of a 3D element - that little umbrella! Great share Sussann.

What can you do with a potato cutout? Lisa put one to good use on this recipe card she crafted for a recipe swap. Lisa used a recipe card base file from a Lil Bucket at the Wishblading Well, her yummy recipe, my Potato & Chips file, and graphic papers to make this eye-catching card.
Love it, Lisa! Thank You!!

Have a photo showing how you’ve used my files?? You know I’d love to see it!

Let me hand it to you

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Our family gathered on Sunday for Easter dinner. After a yummy meal we had a family photo shoot. Took lots of photos of different family combinations. Even stuck the camera on a tripod so we could get a picture of the entire group. Mom had seen this photo idea online so we posed for this “hand-some” shot featuring four generations of female hands.

Thinking of hands I designed this file.

Available at Cutters Market.

I’d love to see the creative ways you find to use it!

Handy Phrases:
*Lend a hand
*Hands down favorite
*Quite a hand-full

*I wanna hold your hand

Love in a Cracker Barrel

Restaurant – that is. Last weekend we attended the second wedding of my hubby’s uncle. Uncle D is a big fan of Cracker Barrel restaurants; in fact it is his favorite breakfast hangout spot. Even though it is a ½ hour drive from his home he visits there several times a week. This man is a real southern gentleman. Originally from Kentucky, he still has his southern accent (even after living up "north" for over 50 years). He is a very sweet guy who enjoys a good joke, loves golf and taking photos; has a ready handshake or hug for everyone, and treats women as precious treasures. Several years ago he lost his wife of 45 years to cancer. It was very hard to see this man without the love of his life, but he adjusted well - just spent more time doting on his children, grandchildren, and extended family. How wonderful that during his Cracker Barrel breakfasts he met a very special waitress, who has now become his wife. The wedding was a joyous celebration of two mature adults finding love a second time in their lives. Both had their adult children “give them away”. It was a simple, sweet ceremony for two people who had obviously been a blessing to many others – the church was packed!
At this stage in their lives gift ideas are hard to come by. I used my cutter to help craft our gift. We purchased a photo frame and I adhered a “Mr & Mrs” flourish (cut from that metallic shelf liner I bought a few months ago) to the front of the glass and added a gift card to “their” place!

This cut wonderfully from the shelf liner. It was so delicate I didn’t think it would cut from cardstock – but I gave it a try anyway. Oh, I love my CR! – it cut perfectly from cardstock also! It is very delicate, so take care when removing it from your mat.

26 Years

Hubby and I are celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary tomorrow, going to a nearby town to eat and shop and spend time together. Today we exchanged gifts and cards. I usually give him a card that I design – but for whatever reason I decided to buy one this year. Imagine our surprise when we realized we bought each other the very same card!! Is that two hearts beating as one or what?? Then to get totally mushy and silly we rented the movie "Enchanted". Ain't love grand! LOL

Today’s little border can be used for Easter or just for a feel of spring.

Available at Cutters Market.

Enjoy!!

From our card(s):

But most of all, love is just knowing you’re there. ~ Emily Matthews

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Seems our holidays are getting all bunched up this year, with Easter only a few days after St. Patrick’s Day. So Happy St. Patrick's Day! - and lets move on to Easter!

I’ve been working on a few Easter files lately. Here’s today's share.

Available at Cutters Market.
Also in a card version.

The frame is sized to fit over a 4x6 print. But of course it is easy to resize!

I’m also making progress on wedding attire. DD’s gown is now hemmed!!
I can’t wait for her to try it on – getting rid of that excess length will make a lot of difference in how it looks and feels to her. Our next challenge is figuring out how to get the bustle looking the way we want it. This will also be a lot easier now that the dress is the proper length. I’ve also shortened and taken in DD#2’s bridesmaid dress. (She’s very tiny/petite, I shortened the dress 11”(!) and took it in a couple inches. This is on a size 2, mind you!) The girls get a long weekend off for Easter, so you can be sure we’ll be trying on those dresses again!

Recipe Album Page

Here’s my latest addition to DD’s recipe album.
Coming Soon to Cutters Market.

The cutter file includes the hot peppers, recipe title and sombrero.
I used my Layered Turkey file for the bird.

This is a great recipe to use up leftover Thanksgiving turkey or I often substitute chicken. Click here for the recipe.

We’re enjoying a beautiful middle-of-March day here today. It is 45 degrees, but everyone wants to shed their jackets! Saw lots of happy faces at the library today!!

Plugged In Again

Long time no blog! LOL

Spring break sure went fast for the Neff household; but we were able to get a few things crossed off the to-do list! I unplugged my cutter on February 29, and just plugged it back in a few minutes ago. I think that is the longest break it has had since I bought it a year ago November!

I felt a bit rusty creating this file – I took me several attempts before I came up with something I was willing to share. Hope you can find a use for this little Irish Flourish - St. Patty’s Day is only a week away you know.
Available at Cutters Market.

As I was out taking snow pictures the other day I came across this little promise of spring.

YES! The pussy willows are budding!! Spring IS on it’s way!! I've been having my doubts but here's proof! LOL

An Irish Blessing
May good luck be with you wherever you go and your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow.
