Lasting Legacy

Yesterday our church celebrated its 100th birthday. We held services under a giant tent in the town’s park. Many former pastors and their families were honored, stories were shared about the many building projects and the many lives touched and changed through the years. This church started when a married couple began holding Bible studies and prayer meetings in their home. They moved their meetings to a saloon (?!) when they outgrew their home's space, then to a seed mill, before a church was built. From these two people with vision and faith a congregation that now numbers over 800 was born. They left a legacy not only for their own family, but for a whole community - and as members leave to live elsewhere, the whole world!

Legacy as defined by Webster is “Something handed down or derived from an ancestor or earlier time”.
File available at Cutters Market.

By scrapping about our lives, with their joys and trials, we can help assure that our values, beliefs, personality and character will be recognized by future generations and we can leave a legacy that could possibly effect the whole world as well.
Happy Scrapping!

Quotes:

*Our most treasured family heirlooms are our sweet family memories.
*Legacy of love.
