Fall

Fall has certainly come to my backyard! We have a couple giant cottonwood trees growing along the creek.

Grandpa Cottonwood

They are beautiful from a distance – but – as they bud in the spring they shed little green sticky things, then comes the flying cotton, all year they shed LOTS of twigs and in the fall they lose their great big hard-to-rake-up leaves.

We've only just begun!

They don’t even have the decency to turn a beautiful color before falling, just a dull rusty gold color! LOL

Plenty more where those came from!

At any rate we end up raking our yard many times before the season is over. If we waited until they were all down we’d need a bulldozer to push them into piles!

With my thoughts on all those leaves, I designed this fall wordbook. I scanned the leaf shapes from leaves I found in our yard.

Go course, golf courses are beautiful any way, but you can see the hugh trees just turning golden there.

  2. Fall is much prettier in someone else's backyard - LOL.
One of our neighbors has the most beautiful tree, it is some type of maple and it turns the most gorgeous shades of yellow and orange. It practically glows! I love driving by their house in the fall.
